We were in Madrid, and right by a metro station. We looked the previous night on the Renfe sight to check out trains and prices. We picked a 10€ fare each way to try to take. We took the metro to the Madrid Chamartin station. Once there, we bought tickets for the high speed (AVE) train that got there in 30 minutes. How do you buy a ticket to Segovia? We found a machine to purchase tickets. There are multiple machines and there were lines at some of them. Just because there is a line it doesn’t mean that’s the one you want. On the base of the machines, there is some labeling indicating what you can buy there. After realizing that, buying the correct tickets was easy.
